Rockabilly, Psychobilly, and Punk.?
So i've been watching, reading, hearing etc. for the past year. And I'm pissed. First thing. Rockabilly. Not 50's but the Neo Rockabilly scene in the 80's. My dad was part of it and he still loves it and dresses like it (sometimes). But How come nobody talks about it? It was awesome. All these people that are talking about fashion for rockabillys never include creepers etc. I mean my dad tells me stories all the time. SO I just wondered if anyone remembers the store Na Nas in San Francisco, Daljeets, and other sick stores like that.
Yeah, I remember... as a matter of fact, I just threw in a sidenote to a question about why punkers and "heavy metal" kids didn't get along. I've got news for you- we never got along with "teds", either. Sure, nowadays you'll see a punk-looking person hanging out with rock-a-billies and vice versa, but that wasn't the norm back then, as far as I can remember. Not sure where your pop is from, but I seem to recall a pitched battle in Anaheim, amongst others, in '81 or '82, I think...
*EDIT*
Hey , ask your dad if he remembers "Stop The Clock" clothing store in Berkeley. That was THE teddy boy clothes store up north at the time...
